We have had a great deal of support from individuals, businesses and
organisations - and we are eternally grateful for this. One voluntary
organisation stands out in our efforts - the Scouts - one of the Chairman's
educational talks to the Scout's Founders' Day Service back in 2002
caused a degree of support that could never have been forseen.
Local scout groups held fundraising events,
including a sponsored climb-a-mile, some scouts even expressed an
interest in helping our hands-on work when they were older. One
scout leader, Mary Lampard ran the London Marathon for us and another
leader, John Blackmore is planning to come out with us on our next
humanitarian trip. In 2005 Four
Somerset-based scouts, Sam, Ben, Calvin and James - not only did
fundraising events with their scout group but even took their
fundraising efforts into their school and family. All in all a wonderful
effort by some very special people
